Billback Systems has integrated its Advantage cost recovery software suite with Canon's multifunctional devices, allowing users to access their familiar Billback cost recovery software suite directly on the front panel of Canon imageRUNNER devices. The Billback Embedded for Canon solution allows customers to collect billing information on supported Canon imageRUNNER devices without the need for terminal hardware or copy counter interfaces to be installed to monitor the device.
The Billback MEAP application is installed directly on to Canon imageRUNNER devices and sends and receives data over the network to its host server. The current version of Billback Embedded for Canon solution can capture and bill Copy (Color/Paper Size/Material) and Scan (Color/Size) billing data.

The Billback complete cost recovery system includes copier and fax control hardware/software with revolutionary touch screen functionality, a robust and highly configurable print capture solution, integrated PBX and mobile call accounting, browser based exception management, a sundry entry module, network fax import module, e-mail management module, charge rate module, multi-site capability, system status modules, accounting package integration module, on-line search import modules, travel charge import module, and corporate credit card management module.

Billback's MEAP Solution requires a TCP/IP network to communicate over as it is a client/server application
If the connection between the client and server fails the client has support for an offline mode where it will follow a similar workflow to when it is online (without account recall and searching) allowing the user to enter billing information and use the device, alternatively it can be configured to lock users out when it is offline.
