- Overview
The Canon Virtual Mailbox (VMB) is a Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP®) application that allows an organization to manage its mobile printing requirements. Clients simply load their most frequently printed documents such as sales presentations, product brochures, legal contracts, and forms into their Virtual Mailbox. When ready, the user just logs into his or her Virtual Mailbox from any MEAP device within the enterprise to access and print the document.
Typically, most people today preprint the documents they need prior to a business trip or put them on a laptop and then print them at the destination. With the Canon VMB, there is no need to preprint documents or carry a laptop. Now you can output from anywhere within your corporate enterprise. VMB lets you control when and where you can print.
-Have you ever walked across the office plaza to another building without the latest documents for your meeting? No problem. Just walk up to any MEAP device in the building and print out the documents you need.
-Do you want to ensure that your sales force has the latest product information? It's simple. The marketing department prints the newest documents to the Product Info. public mailbox, and deletes the dated materials. When sales people need to output those documents, they just walk up to any imageRUNNER device having MEAP capabilities, enter the public mailbox, and print the documents with full confidence that the information is the most current.
-You work in the New York office but have to give a presentation in Los Angeles. Don't print those lengthy PowerPoint® slides and carry them with you on the trip. Just go to any MEAP device when you arrive on site and print out your slide presentation.
-Do you have a favorite presentation or form you always need? Store it in your Virtual Mailbox and print it anytime, without even going to your computer. Simply go to any MEAP device running Virtual Mailbox and log-in. Your favorite documents are stored in your Virtual Mailbox, ready to be printed at your convenience.
-Have you ever attended an important meeting only to realize that you were without backup documentation? No problem. Just walk down the hall to a MEAP device with VMB capability and print them out.
-Your VMB driver is not tied to the print device, which means there are no additional drivers to install per print device, no cluttered printer folder through which to sort, and no searching the building for the printer that should have your document sitting in the tray for anyone to view.
