- Overview
Canon's LASER CLASS 710 Facsimile System offers you the flexibility and productivity you're looking for in a multifunctional office fax solution. With a LASER CLASS 710 Multifunction System, everyone in your workgroup has the power of a high volume Canon Laser Facsimile machine: a 19-ppm laser printer, 1200-dpi resolution, Super G3 Technology, a 35 scans-per-minute scanner, large document memory, and a 70-sheet document feeder. What's more, every machine has a convenient front-access design and a FX-7 Cartridge included.
In addition, the LASER CLASS 710 offers Super G3 technology, a large standard memory of up to 510 pages (8MB) with the potential of up to 1,500 pages of memory, as well as a 19 ppm print speed, a standard 600-sheet paper capacity, and a range of network print and document management options.
- Features
Internet Fax! The LASER CLASS 710 ships as a standalone facsimile machine with the ability to be upgraded to a true, Internet Facsimile System with the addition of the optional Printer Kit III and Network Kit III. This will enable the user to fax documents three different ways: I-Fax to I-Fax, I-Fax to PC, and PC to I-Fax. It is easy to use, extremely flexible and fast, and it will lower costs by virtually eliminating many of the phone line charges.
High Speed, High Quality Output is standard on the LASER CLASS 700 Series. Documents are printed at a fast 19-ppm, even when printing at 1200-dpi. Canon's Ultra High Quality (UHQ) images will ensure excellent reproductions of every document that is scanned, sent, and/or copied.
Super G3 Technology provides the fastest transmission speed attainable over the Public Switched Telephone Network.
33.6 Kbps Dual Line Option provides twice the fax line power and performance of standard facsimile machines. It enables the user to send or receive two faxes at once, or send and receive simultaneously. Both the primary and secondary fax lines operate at 33.6 Kbps.
Productive Document Feeding via the 70-sheet Automatic Document Feeder. The Dual Access feature enhances fax productivity by allowing for transmission reservation during reception and memory transmission, and memory reception and transmission while the fax is in use as a convenience copier, or while printing reports.
High Volume Paper Capacities. The LASER CLASS 710 comes standard with a paper supply of 600 sheets: two 250-sheet front loading adjustable cassettes and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray, with the option of an additional 500-sheet letter-sized cassette.
Memory: The LASER CLASS 710 comes standard with a memory of up to 510 pages (8MB), with the option to upgrade to 40MB, up to 1,500 pages.
UHQ Image Processing Technology delivers excellent reproductions of every document that is scanned, sent, and/or copied.

- Productivity Tips
How to Program the Transfer Function
- Purpose: To forward LASER CLASS 710/720i/730i incoming documents to another source (PC/Fax/I-Fax/FTP).
- Note: The Transfer destination must be preprogrammed as a One-Touch or Coded Speed Dial.
- Press Data Registration Button.
- Scroll down to Fax Settings and press Set Button.
- Scroll down to File Settings and press Set Button.
- Scroll down to Transfer and press Set Button.
- LCD will show Setup File. Press Set Button.
- LCD will show File Name. Press Set Button.
- Key in a unique name (up to 24 characters) for the Transfer Settings. Press Set Button.
- LCD will show Select Locations. Press Set Button.
- Close front panel and select the location you want the incoming faxes forwarded to. Choose either a preprogrammed One-Touch or Coded Speed dial. Press Set Button.
- LCD displays Password. You may set a numeric password (up to 7-Digits) to protect the Transfer File Settings. You must enter this password every time you want to put the machine into Transfer Mode. If you do not wish to set a password press the down arrow.
- LCD displays Org Unit. This will enable you to set the machine to forward documents from a specific sender only. If you wish to transfer all documents received press the down arrow.
- LCD displays Time Setup. You can choose to set times and days for the Transfer Settings to be activated and deactivated. See page 9-5 of LC 700 Facsimile Guide for more information. If you do not program a time, you can activate the Transfer Setting by pressing the Transfer Button as needed.
- LCD displays Print RX Doc. You can set the machine to print a copy of every document it transfers. You can also select how many copies you wish to print. The default is set to Off, which will not print a copy at the machine.
- Press Stop to return to Standby Mode. Press Transfer Button on Control Panel to activate the Transfer Function. LCD will display Transfer.
How to Program the Relay Broadcast Function
- Purpose: To relay LASER CLASS 710/720i/730i incoming documents to other destinations (PC/Fax/I-Fax/FTP).
- Note: The Originator and Relay destination must be preprogrammed as a Speed Dial.
- Press Data Registration Button.
- Scroll down to Fax Settings and press Set Button.
- Scroll down to File Settings and press Set Button.
- Scroll down to Relay TX Group and press Set Button.
- LCD will show Setup File. Press Set Button.
- LCD will display Set Relay TX Group #00. Enter a 2-digit number or use arrow keys to select number. You can set up to 50 Relay Groups. Press Set Button.
- LCD will display Group Dial Name. Press Set Button.
- Key in unique name (up to 24 characters) for Relay TX Settings. Press Set Button.
- LCD will display Password. You may set a numeric password (up to 7-Digits) to protect the Relay TX Settings. You must enter this password every time you want to view or change these settings. If you do not wish to set a password press the down arrow.
- LCD will show Trigger. Press Set Button.
- LCD will display Subaddress. You can select to program Trigger by Subaddress, Sender's Fax # or Mail Address. Choose desired Trigger and Press Set.
- Enter ITU-T Subaddress (up to 20 digits), or choose preprogrammed speed dial for Sender's Fax # or Mail Address. Press Set Button.
- Press Data Registration button once. Press down arrow key. LCD displays 4. RX Password. The ITU-T password must match the ITU-T password of the doc sent from the originator in order for machine to receive document. If you wish to skip the password press the down arrow twice.
- LCD displays Print RX Doc. You can set the machine to print a copy of every document it relays. You can also select how many copies you wish to print. The default is set to Off, which will not print a copy at the machine.
- LCD displays Select Locations. Press Set Button. Close front panel and select the location you want the incoming faxes relayed to. Choose a preprogrammed Speed Dial. Press Set Button.
- Machine is defaulted to send a TX Report back to the originator and to automatically turn the Relay Feature On. If you wish to turn off the defaults, see page 6-6 of LC 700 Facsimile Guide for more information.
- Press Stop to return to Standby Mode.
