Wide 70° Horizontal Angle Lens with a 360° Viewing Angle PTZ camera
A genuine Canon AF wide angle lens with a 70º maximum horizontal angle of view lets the VB-C300 get more of the scene into the frame, even at close range. This makes it ideal for monitoring in tight spaces, such as an ATM kiosk, where it’s important to catch as much of the scene as possible in a single shot. With full Pan Tilt Zoom control, a full 360º horizontal range of capture gives ultra-wide coverage- and clear movement thanks to fast-acting auto focus, especially useful for capturing the view in a large site, for example a roof-top yard or lot monitoring installation. With a focal length of 3.0 mm to 7.2 mm, aperture F2.0 to F3.4, focus range of 0.01 m to infinity in wide, 1.6 m to infinity in telephoto and a horizontal field of view ranging from 29.6° in telephoto to 70.8° in wide, this lens will brilliantly cover a host of monitoring challenges.

High Sensitivity Progressive Scan CCD
With 310,000 Effective Pixels (680,000 Pixels, the VB-C300 delivers a full 640 x480 sized video image at a full 30 fps. The VB-C300 utilizes progressive scan video instead of interlaced scan for smooth, high-quality video of even rapidly moving subjects. For instance, more distinct images of facial features or license plate numbers will be visible through the VB-C300 than possible from more blurred images from interlaced-based cameras. The low-light performance of the VB-C300 has been enhanced by this high-sensitivity CCD which, by also reducing noise, greatly expands the usability of the camera in dark, difficult situations such as outdoor night monitoring.
Mechanical IR Cut Filter and Auto Day/Night Capability
The Auto Day and Night Mode of the VB-C300 automatically switches from color video to light sensitive black & white video capture through an internal motorized infrared cut filter. Switching can be set to be triggered manually by the user or automatically based on light level thresholds to optimize image quality in variable situations. Further contributing to the VB-C300's excellent low-light performance is its ability to capture color video at 30fps at 1 LUX (1/30 shutter speed) with no reduction in frame rate.
Pan / Tilt / Zoom
The range of motion possible with the VB-C300 covers a full ±170º in Pan, -25º / +90º in Tilt and +25º / -90º in Reverse Mode Tilt. Together with the wide-angle lens, more of your surveillance area can be covered with a single camera. It also moves quickly... up to a maximum speed of 90° per second in Pan and 70° per second in Tilt. Easy adjustability via PC control make the range of the VB-C300 more accessible and quick auto focus ensures that the images will remain remarkably clear during movement. This can be particularly useful in production line monitoring situations.
PoE (Power over Ethernet), 802.3af Compliant
Makes installation easier by allowing the use of a single Ethernet cable to both power the camera and carry images back to the monitoring station. This is especially useful in installations at sites without easily accessible AC outlets. It eliminates the need to run additional power to the camera, lowering installation costs. PoE is just one of the options available for power supply which also include 12V DC and 24V AC choices.
Two-Way Audio
With the VB-C300's simultaneous two-way audio support it's possible to listen in on and/or make announcements to the camera site through an authorized networked PC. Full duplex simultaneous two-way audio also gives you the ability to speak to and hear another person at the same time. Because it is a full duplex capability, it is more effective than one which operates as a walkie-talkie, allowing only one party to send audio at a time.
The audio functions are especially useful for customer service monitoring in retail situations or event webcasting where listening in to the camera site is desired, for notifying trespassers that they have been sighted in a monitored location or advising of assistance to a person in need at a remote location.
Built-in Network Server with High Performance Data Transmission
The built-in Network Server of the VB-C300 provides viewing for up to 15 clients simultaneously through enhanced data transmission performance over earlier generation network cameras. Multiple clients can be supported with minimal reduction in the delivered video frame rate. Even during access by multiple users the VB-C300 is able to maintain a high frame rate in data transmission. The speed of image delivery on your network is barely affected by the number of monitoring personnel.
Built-In Terminals: Audio In/Out, Video Out and External Sensor In/Out
Audio In/Out, Video Out, and External Sensor In/Out terminals in the VB-C300 allow easy connectivity with external devices such as sensors and alarms, enhancing the capabilities of your surveillance network.
Line IN and line OUT terminals (one each) connect a speaker or microphone with amplifier, a video OUT terminal provides analog video output for maintenance. Two sensor IN and one sensor OUT terminals allow the connection of sensors and alarms to the VB-C300.
The built-in terminals also streamline installation, as no additional support devices are necessary which would take up space and add cost.
20 Preset Positions
Quickly and efficiently cover specified targets with the 20 preset positions available. They can be set and named by the administrator and by clicking on the preset indicated, the VB-C300 quickly moves to that position for immediate monitoring.

The VB-C300 is also versatile in the ways it can be installed. It can be placed in an upright position, or mounted on the ceiling, either in the open or in an optional indoor dome housing available in clear or smoked models. The dome housings are ultra-compact, with a low, 3.2" (81.5 mm) profile and a base which is only 7.1" (180 mm) in diameter. A wide variety of environments can be accommodated with this flexible camera.
