- Overview
imageRUNNER Smart Card Authentication Powered by Codehost is an integrated Smart Card solution for MEAP enabled imageRUNNER devices. A simple login application, the solution locks down the imageRUNNER device granting access to walk-up users after they authenticate at the device using their Smart Card. The solutions primary functionality is designed to provide security control measure at the networked imageRUNNER device to protect the flow of information. This application also extends an existing identity authentication infrastructure used for other network peripherals to the networked imageRUNNER device.
*The Smart Card and Readers are not provided with this solution.

- Features
- This solution allows for two-factor authentication, first by inserting your Smart Card into the reader and then entering a personal PIN, if applicable.
- An error message will appear on the front panel of the imageRUNNER device, if the operation has not been carried out correctly. For example, if the Smart Card is not inserted properly the following message will appear:
- The Smart Card is convenient and simple to use for identity authentication at the imageRUNNER device.
- Smart Card Authentication can help in securing and restricting device access.
- For initial configuration, Smart Card Authentication provides an easy-to use Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the IT manager to configure the Codehost Authentication/Verification Server (CAVS).
- This solution integrates with the existing authentication infrastructure which leverages initial investment.
- Use Smart Card for access control measures to protect the flow of information.

Note: In order to use the Codehost Login Services system with an optional EFI controller attached to your MEAP device, port 1000 must be opened for pass through on the EFI controller.
