All-Mode Duplex: Enhancing home and small office operation, Canon’s imageCLASS D480 provides all-mode duplex capabilities for printing, copying, scanning and faxing. With this duplexing capability, customers will be able to significantly reduce paper consumption by duplex printing documents from a PC, or on incoming faxes. The unit also allows users to copy single-sided pages to double-sided output. Through the device’s 50-sheet duplex automatic document feeder (DADF), output is easily duplex printed for a more streamlined office workflow.


Networkable: The imageCLASS D480 provides network capabilities in an affordable compact package. It can be connected to a network through the 10/100 Base T network, so everyone can easily share printing, PC faxing and scanning directly from their PC.


Smart Paper Handling: The D480 boasts print and copy speeds of up to 23 pages-per-minute (ppm) for letter-sized output, and delivers Quick First Prints or copy pages in approximately nine seconds. Load paper easily in the 250-sheet paper cassette and your black and white output comes out crisp and fast. Through the device's 50-sheet duplex automatic document feeder (DADF), double sided output is handled easily for a more streamlined office workflow. Reduce and enlarge, collate or make draft copies from the easy to use control panel.


Multifunctional: The imageCLASS D480 prints sharp monochrome text with resolution up to 1200 x 600 dpi. Through use of the platen glass or the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) color scans are captured in 24-bit color at an interpolated resolution of up to 9600 dpi. The new device also transmits documents seamlessly and quickly with Super G3 Fax, reaching speeds of approximately 33.6 Kbps. It features eight one-touch speed dial numbers, 100 coded speed dial numbers, 256-page memory capacity, PC Faxing, and two-sided duplex output to provide a robust fax solution in a compact desktop design.


Single Cartridge System: The imageCLASS D480 also incorporates the Canon Single Cartridge System, which combines the toner and drum in one easy-to-replace unit, resulting in excellent image quality retention and eliminating the complication and warehousing of separate toner and drum consumables.

  • 4-in-1, 2-in-1 Printing - This option allows users to place multiple pages on one page, saving up to 75% of your paper supply.
  • PC Faxing - Send documents directly from your PC to a fax machine to reduce paper and print usage.
  • Energy Saving Mode - When the imageCLASS D480 enters Energy Saving Mode, it has a low power consumption of 3 watts of energy.
  • On-Demand SURF Technology - On-Demand SURF (Surface Rapid Fixing) technology uses a linear ceramic heater that heats instantly for fast warm up speeds and Quick First Prints. This results in up to a 75% reduction in energy consumption compared to conventional roller-fixing systems.
  • Toner Saving Mode - When the imageCLASS D480 is switched into the toner saving mode, it allows for up to a 20% more economical toner usage.
  • AIRSHELL Cartridge Packaging - AIRSHELL is packaging material for our imageCLASS toner cartridges that utilizes air cushioning. It reduces product package sizes, helps to improve shipping efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions generated during transport by approximately 23% to 49%.
  • Toner Cartridge Recycling Program - Canon was the first in the printing industry to create a toner cartridge recycling program. Canon toner cartridges are 100% recovered with zero landfill waste.
  • Hardware Recycling Program - Canon is committed to the world community and the belief that we are building a better world for future generations. We want to work with our customers to ensure appropriate recycling of certain imageCLASS products to help improve the environment and our local communities.
  • Refurbishing Program - The Canon refurbishing facility manages waste stream processes for Canon products, so Canon has full control over recovery and salvage for imageCLASS products, not third-party vendors.
  • ENERGY STAR® - Qualified products are 25% more efficient than conventional models. By using less energy these products reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save energy as well as money. The imageCLASS D480 automatically enters low-power mode when not in use.
  • RoHS Compliant - This is a directive from the European Union that restricts the use of hazardous materials found in electronic products. This product restricts the use of cadmium, mercury, lead, hexavalent chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE).
