- Data Security Kit
Protect your company’s confidential documents with Kyocera’s Data Security Kits —a reliable, Data Security Solution for select MFPs and Printers.
In today’s competitive business environment, companies are becoming increasingly reliant on multifunctional products (MFPs) to streamline the document creation, printing, and distribution workflow thereby increasing the productivity of the work force. Because of these advanced digital products, multifaceted documents such as business plans, advertising campaigns, and marketing programs can now complete the entire communication cycle in only a fraction of the time it used to take. Along with this increase in document management efficiency, an entirely new set of requirements has emerged—requirements related to protecting sensitive materials from unauthorized internal and external distribution. Because pages that are scanned by an MFP leave a “digital footprint” in the form of a latent image on the system’s hard disk drive, these security requirements present a difficult challenge.
To meet this challenge, Kyocera developed a Data Security Kit designed for its latest generation of midvolume MFPs. The Data Security Kit offers a powerful solution for meeting the privacy demands of today’s digital office environments by overwriting the information stored on a hard drive every time the unit is powered up.
This prevents unauthorized users from gaining access to confidential information retained in the MFP’s internal memory, thereby reducing the threat of a security breach.
- KYOCERA ADVANTAGE
The power of the Kyocera Data Security Kit is its ability to automatically delete data stored on a device’s hard drive.This is accomplished in either of two ways:
- Once-Overwrite Method;
This method over-writes the entire hard drive during the initial disk formatting process.
- Three-time Overwrite Method (Default)
The preferred security choice when the highest level of data protection is required.This method encompasses more comprehensive 3-phase data deletion process.
- MANUAL “MEMORY SCRUBBER” OPTION
The Data Security Kit helps to secure confidential information when office equipment is retired or resold by providing a manual data deletion capability. This feature ensures that system and/or program management data relating to print/copy/scan usage is rendered unrecoverable by unauthorized third parties.
- PASSWORD PROTECTION
Password control ensures that the operation and configuration of the Data Security Kit is always protected from unauthorized user access.
- SIMPLE TO LEARN USER-FRIENDLY INTERFACE
A commonly recognized hard disk drive icon appears on the device’s touch screen panel when the Data Security Kit (A) is installed and activated. The icon alerts users that the device is in the data deletion, or “Memory Scrubber” process.
