The 90W Auto/Air/AC adapter will not power a dv8000 series notebook in an aircraft, although the Auto and AC functions will work properly. For this reason, HP recommends the HP Auto/Truck Adapter (ER691AA#ABA) for use with the Pavilion dv8000 notebook series.
